A standard deck of fifty-two playing cards is utilized. The cards are ranked in descending order: 2 A K Q J 10 9 8 7 6 5 4 3. The cards are also ranked by suit: Hearts, Diamonds, Clubs, and Spades. The highest-ranked cards are the "2"s, also known as Pigs, with the 2 of Hearts being the utmost highest.
